Version 412 has gone up to the Open Repository. This version includes a rework of the ConfigurationSettings. And said rework means it ends up in the standard VisualWorks Settings Tool. So you can all finally try the options in there to tune it to your liking. And they're saveable just like other settings. And reloadable.

It seems everyone whines, er, uh, wishes the default settings were more to their liking. So I've got a suggestion. Now that you can save them... get them set up as you like them, and then do a "Save Page" and send the .xml file to me. And if I get anough of them, and there's common patterns in there, we'll see about changing the defaults to match concensus where concensus exists.

There's two additional options that have been added to the settings page for the formatter. Over the years, the ability to be "format on save" has been repeatedly added to the system. It's now an option you can set there. It's nice.

Additionaly, I was so tickled with the way the "AsYouLikeIt" experiment worked, I've integrated that as well. There's an option called "Browse Auto Formats?" Play with it. It's kind of handy.

I'm sure there's some additional tweaking that could/needs to be done to the formatters flags. One that I know needs to happen, is better handling of literal arrays that contain other literal arrays (which usually means a spec). The current rules for these don't give the nice structured appearance that is normal for these methods.

Back to pollockizing other tools now.
