I'll be giving a
full-day workshop on DSM (SA4) at Software Architect 2007 in
London, June 12th:
The main part of the workshop addresses the guidelines
for implementing DSM: how to identify the necessary language
constructs, different ways of building code generators, how to keep
generators simple by refactoring code into a domain framework, and
how to build tool support for your modeling language. Participants
will try their hand and learn these skills in practice in group
exercises.
Experience level: Intermediate – Advanced
Most beneficial for lead developers, architects and team leads.
It should be fun having a whole day: that will give us a chance to do more exercises, rather than just talking and flipping slides. Learning about DSM from a shorter talk with slides is of course useful too, but that's all it can be: learning about DSM. With a half or full day, you can start actually learning DSM. If you're interested, you can sign up for the event now -- there's an early registration discount until May 25th.
I'll also be giving a shorter talk on the various kinds of model-driven development (DSM, MDA, SF), and how to move from coding to MDD. That's on June 14th in
track 4 at 9:30.
