Well the first part of the VisualWorks IDE/Tools Team planning and team building has finished. Sherry has left and is heading for a nice seaplane flight in Seattle before heading back to Vancouver. It's memorial day weekend in the states, that means my colleagues are shutting down for a long weekend.

So naturally, I've crossed the border where Liberty day doesn't exist. They celebrated the Queen's birthday last weekend. It was an 8 hour trip in total. The border was a bit slow, traveling through the outer suburbs of Vancouver was slow too. The traffic across Washington state was fantastic - everyone was heading the other way before i got to Seattle, then i was heading with them. Long weekend - everyone disappears out of the cities.

I'm here until Tuesday - then I do the reverse drive back. I'd forgotten how incredibly beautiful the Cascade Mountains are when you're driving through them.

Next week we continue on with our planning, programming and team building exercises - I make it sound so formal. Team building = Travis and I saw Pirates 3 last night. Planning = We all stand around the whiteboard and posit our ideas for where we can take things, big picture or not. Programming = Actually doing some work! :)

Three more weeks before I head home. This has been an invalueable trip so far and hopefully we'll start to make a dent in the UI of VisualWorks. (Useful dents, not potholes).
