Well, even though (as I write this) this trip isn't complete yet, I think it qualifies as just about the nastiest non-cancellation travel I've ever had.
Start with a four hour delay in Baltimore, helped along by a desk agent who spent most of the afternoon on personal calls. The monitor never gave any hint as to how long the delay would be, and to find out, I had to call the USAirways 800 number.
Ok, that was bad. It went to farce next :)
Arrived in Philadelphia, where my connection was (thankfully) also late). They announce imminent boarding - and then one of the flight attendants got sick, Bam, another hour delay while they scrounge for a replacement.
We finally get in the air, I'm nearly done with my book - and a guy behind Arden calls the flight attendant back. It seems that the fuel cap on the wing is loose. Oh boy - pilot comes back, nods, heads back to the cabin - we descend.
Worse luck - we have to burn off fuel before we can land, so we circle around at low altitude before heading back to - you guessed it - Philadelphia. Erf
As I write this, I wonder whether we'll be in time for tomorrow's meeting at this rate :)
Heh - as it turned out, yes. We arrived at the airport at 1:30 AM, and I'm posting this at 3. Ouch.
