Doc Searls points to a demo of how Facebook Beacon works - it's a loud complaint about the supposed invasion of your privacy that's involved.

I have a clue here for the group yelling about it: that's a design feature of Facebook itself. Part of joining it and using it is a willingness to share that kind of information. Don't want to share that info? There's a simple answer to that, too: don't join Facebook. Heck, it's not as if anyone is signing people up at gunpoint.
