Tim Bray relays the results of an (unscientific) survey of tools usage in the Java and Ruby worlds - the results show just how willing people are to use tools that any Smalltalker would hesitate to call tools - Vi is the leading choice of Ruby respondents, for instance.
I think it behooves us Smalltalkers to show off (in a non-arrogant fashion) what our tools can do. I'll be addressing a couple of local (Washington DC area) Ruby groups in the next few months - I have a few ideas as to how to proceed, largely based on how Travis approached a Linux group. Any other suggestions?
