I sat down and prototyped a CodeCompentPropertiesTab module that shows database connections for the given selection. Prototype being the important word. I wanted to play with a couple of ideas. One of course which is Cairo. It's in RBPackageDBInfoViews (I didn't even take the time to come up with a good name).
Things that I played with:
That's running under Quartz OSX, not X11. Runs in the last couple development builds. Thanks to John Sarkela and VM team again for making this possible.
A generic button object, that can be given different shape and drawing functions. Announcment based.
More use of Panel, no Wrappers in there.
The hover-over glow that is actually bigger than the button bounds (somethings not quite right on OSX, that particular one does work differently than X11. Thus me nudging the window size in the movie-let to get it to refresh.
