Looks like ditching his publicity hungry agent was the right move:

Alex Rodriguez set another record for baseball's highest contract, finalizing his $275 million, 10-year agreement with the New York Yankees on Thursday.

Even better, they aren't trading away the young pitching talent. There may be hope for next year yet :)
