The RIAA and MPAA are not the only businesses that are raging against the future: witness the booksellers in France, who've managed to get the government there to halt Amazon's free shipment policy:
Amazon.com may not offer free delivery on books in France, the high court in Versailles has ruled.
This kind of thing is interesting to me - watching existing businesses try deperately to maintain a system that is passing from the scene. It's hardly new; I'm sure you could pick an arbitrary decade, especially between about 1870-1920, and found plenty of similar examples. I still find it fascinating :)
