For the second year in a row, I lost weight between Thanksgiving and New Years (3 or 4 pounds this year). I should be under 180 soon, from a high of 207 back in 2005. For me, the solution was fairly simple: I just cut way, way back on carbohydrates. Of course, I had some motivation: high triglyceride numbers and constant acid reflux. With the cutback in carbs, I've gotten rid of the acid reflux. Last year, I stopped taking the statin based meds my doctor had prescribed, and I started feeling dramatically better - my energy levels went back up, and I find I can run at a decent clip again. I'm hopeful that this time next year I'll be down around 170.
