This news about Best Buy upping their stock of Apple equipment is very good news:

Leading U.S. electronics specialty retailer Best Buy said this week it plans to increase the number of stores carrying Apple Inc.'s Mac computer line twofold in the next several weeks, signaling robust demand for the Windows PC alternatives in the broader consumer market.

Even if you don't care about the Mac, this represents an uptick in real competition for Windows - which will eventually force Microsoft to improve their product. Of course, given Vista, that does look like a bleak chance - but still... :)
