This week we spoke to Carl Gundel, who has just released a new Basic product - RunBasic. It's a web development system based on his earlier Liberty Basic. It was a good conversation, and this week is part 1 - I'll have part 2 out next weekend. There are a number of good online resources for Run Basic:

There's a sizeable community around Liberty Basic, and - with the release of Run Basic - a growing one for that. You might ask what our interest in this is, being Smalltalkers? Liberty Basic is implemented in Visual Smalltalk, and Run Basic is a Cincom Smalltalk based Seaside product. It's one of the more interesting things we've seen being done with Seaside.
