There was a keyboard firmware update for the Mac that I just applied, and boy - I no longer feel like I'm going insane. The problem this solves was a maddening one; periodically, the first key I would type would get dropped. This led to a number of stupid looking chat sessions, and a bunch of "must correct them right now" posts. Kind of a nasty bug to have lingered this long, but at least it's gone.
