Back in August, when I was at ESUG, I threw together a "Cairoized" version of the SUnitToo(ls) feedback thingie. I was pretty proud of myself. Not because it was pretty or anything, but because it was about as many "show off" demonstrations of graphics things I could do with Cairo that I just can't do with normal VisualWorks graphics. But... it's pretty ugly and annoying and gaudy and busy and distracting. I've known that for a while, but have had other things to do. Feeling burnt out with the last sprint of formatter work I just finished, I decided to take a bit of time and do some long overdue graphics work on it.
The basic elements are the same, but simplified. Here's a video I was using to share with buddies at work:
The changes are published to the Open Repository. Enjoy. In fact, the version of above is already slightly dated, I refined it a bit more after making that. If you want a refresher on what you can do with the progress overlay when it's active, go watch this winkcast of the early VisualWorks graphics based one.
Thanks to Ken Treis for acting as visual sounding board, Michael Lucas-Smith for a bit of feedback, and James Robertson for his help with the video bit.
