Dave Buck is combining some of his early work in Ray Tracing with Smalltalk and Seaside:

For over a year now, the Internet Ray Tracing Competition has been in hiatus. Over the past few weeks, I've been working with Chris Cason (the POVRay team leader) on a proposal to get it back online. It's now official - we'll be resurrecting the site. I've volunteered my time as has Randal Schwartz to write the software to drive the site in Seaside 2.8 using VisualWorks NC. It will be a chance for us to develop a public web site using Seaside and help the raytracing community at the same time.
