A cursory look gives the impression that there is some sort of cycle which starts on Monday, with the peak on Thursday and the trough on Sunday
I bet her research tracks closely to the initial conclusion - over the last few months, my blog readership varies the same way that her spam varies, and my overall email volume (according to Eudora stats) varies the same way. So why does that matter? Well, it seems to me that it pretty much verifies something simple - spammers are working regular hours, just like any other employee. Which tells me that we are fighting the spam war at the wrong level - fighting spam by building filters, rules (etc) is a losing fight. Targeting the people who pay for it, on the other hand, might have a shot at succeeding...
