Well it looks like Google has, I assume, accidently kicked Sun in the teeth a bit here. They've just announced Lively - presumeably not to be confused with Lively Kernel which also goes fondly by the name Lively.

Okay, so I'll throw the conspiracy theory stick out there.. Lively vs Lively? Google bears a heavier marketing weight than Sun does (how ironic, since Sun made Java so famous due to marketing). But I guess I have a personal interest here because of the origin of Lively and its author Dan Ingalls.

You'd think a searching engine giant could do a search before choosing a name - on the first page of the results I get Sun Labs Lively Kernel. Watch that disappear as Googles new toy takes off.
