CosmoCows is back to talk about WebTerminal, their application for Fire Departments.

I'm skipping coverage of the background, because everyone knows about the progression from mainframes to PCs to web stuff. The back half of the presentation will be a demo - I'll have video of that eventually.
So what is WebTerminal? It's a "terminal" style framework for RIAs (Rich Internet Apps) - they have a client/server style architecture using a proprietary protocol via Ajax. Actually, the description here sounds a lot like VisualWave. They send UI changes from the client to the "virtual UI" in the server, which then processes them and sends required updates. They don't send all events, as that would get way too chatty.
Wow - they have the same UI builder architecture that Wave had, too. Fascinating. He's wrapping up with a demo - you'll have to wait for the video to see that :)
