PC World notes that the shortage of Wii consoles will continue:

Most people assume that those who want a Wii in the U.S. have one already. Most people would be wrong, as video game retail giant GameStop confirmed last week that it expects Wii shortages to continue this holiday for the third straight year.

I think we're well past "didn't plan for enough manufacturing" and on into "vendor enabled shortage in order to make the platform look even bigger". Come on Nintendo - just bring more plants online.
