I live in a bedroom community of the DC metro area; unless the Federal government falls over, most of the jobs in this area are pretty safe. So it was interesting to see this at Don Pablos last night:

It's a low quality cell phone shot, but what you're looking at is empty tables at the height of the dinner rush. Normally on Friday after 6:30 and before about 9:30, there's a 20-40 minute wait for a table there (and other nearby places). Not only was there no wait; half the tables were empty, and they stayed empty the entire time we were there.
If that kind of behavior holds up, then the ripple effects through the local economy will be pretty large. Anyone else seeing the same sort of thing elsewhere?
