Engadget notes that Apple isn't the only provder that says they'll remotely kill non-conforming apps:

"Google may discover a product that violates the developer distribution agreement ... in such an instance, Google retains the right to remotely remove those applications from your device at its sole discretion"

On the positive side, it's made clear in their terms of service. On the negative side, the blogosphere went nuts over Apple doing this, but the cleansing balm of an "open platform" seems to have made Google immune to the same criticism....
