Troy goes deep on the "Mac Tax" thing, and points out how it all boils down to a classic question: time or money:
This leads me to the question of which is more expensive, a one time cash "tax" or an ongoing "time and frustration" tax? I know PC and Mac people, and the experiences I relate are typical--if you use a PC it's going to get bloated and slow and need some "shop" time at least a couple of times a year. I have *never* owned or used a Windows PC since Windows 95 that I haven't had to mind-wipe at least once.
My Mac just keeps on running fine.
Tell me again about this so-called Mac "tax"?
You can always make more money, but time is pretty finite...
