While I love Apple products (and have developed a fairly strong dislike for Windows), I have to admit - MS is much better at sharing information with the developer community - and that's one of the main reasons theirs is so much larger. Compare the MS PDC - where the videos for all the sessions are online, for free - and the Apple WWDC, where you need to cough up $499 per track.
Obviously, the potential market for Windows applications is bigger - and the doorway into that developer community seems a lot more open. Does Apple understand that they are, for all intents and purposes, telling developers "go away!" ? Someone needs to take a cluestick into Jobs' office and use it on him.
