SciFi Wire reports that two producers for Heroes are out:
NBC's Heroes fired co-executive producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb, who had been with the show since its first season, on Nov. 2 in a surprise shakeup, Variety reported.
And here's the rationale:
Heroes has struggled in the ratings in its third season. It's understood that Alexander and Loeb were let go because of the network's frustration with the creative direction of the show, the trade paper reported. The show is also said to have been grappling with hefty budget overruns this season, which are going well beyond its already sizable $4 million per-episode price tag.
I can understand the frustration, but I hope they don't start going to the nutty places that "Lost" and "X-Files" went as a result.
