Even the smaller news outlets - the ones you would think would grasp the link economy out of sheer necessity - have a blinkered view of things. Here's the boston.com linkage to a local paper that caused a lawsuit:

See that? A headline, one line of text, and a lawsuit. Apparently, the Gatehouse Media folks think they don't need the traffic that would be generated by a link in boston.com (a much bigger entity). Seriously, how stupid do you have to be to yell at people that you don't want their traffic?
