Running at a rate of 1.0 units/hour and having recovered from the very high hyper caused by the giant air bubble, I was back to 10mmol/L and still going down. I knew I was going down until about 2am, so I decided to catch some shut eye finally. It had been a long day.

4am. There's nothing worse than being awoken by a hypo, I gotta tell you. I was down to 3.33mmol/L at 4am. I took some glucose to fix it and dropped the basal rate to 0.8 units/hour. I also bolused for the amount of carbs in the food and let the pump do a -0.7 units correction, this way if the numbers turn out good it's because all the measurements are working in concert. I like the idea of needing less insulin on the pump - very much. I know my bolus rate must be too low because I'm fairly sure it contributed to last nights hyper - we'll see this morning after breakfast.

6am - 8mmol/L, something must be right because I haven't had another hypo in that time and i'm not hyper - in another 2 hours I'll know if I corrected properly.

9am - 7.1mmol/L, I'm awake and my BGL is not too shabby at all. Time to have some breakfast and in another 3-4 hours I'll know how good the bolus rate is. This afternoon after lunch I'll test the basal rate again by having a late dinner. I'm feeling confident about the 0.8/hour basal rate.
