Ok, go read this post by Megan McArdle. Then read the article she links to, which tries to explain how the policy works. The fun really gets going when it becomes clear that the Amazon reps attempting to exlpain the Kindle DRM policies don't really understand it themselves.

The bottom line is, if the vendor of the device you buy can't explain the limitations it has, then those limitations were very, very poorly thought out.
