Southern Storm I just finished "Southern Storm: Sherman's March to the Sea". It's a chronicle of his army's march from Atlanta to Savannah, a day by day listing of the events taken from contemporary accounts. It's a great book if you want to get a feel for how the average citizen and soldier - northern and southern - viewed the events of the march as it happened.

While it focuses heavily on Sherman and his army, it also covers the disorganized Confederate response - you can see the kinds of forces at work as the rebellion breathed its last. If this is a period of history that interests you, get this book. Highly recommended.
