Seems that Microsoft has gotten the message about the "vomit ad":

After a wave of complaints from customers, Microsoft has dropped a controversial online ad for its Internet Explorer web browser that featured a vomiting woman.

The logical next step would be to fire the "edgy" firm they've got doing the ads, but I see little chance of that happening. Like Burger King, they are operating under the delusion that irritating, creepy ads work...
