I see where Ruper Murdoch plans to set up a WSJ-style paywall across all NewsCorp news sites:
"The digital revolution has opened many new and inexpensive methods of distribution," Mr Murdoch said. "But it has not made content free. Accordingly we intend to charge for all our news websites," he said. He said News Corp would use the Wall Street Journal's online vehicle as a model.
Here's the problem though: the WSJ has a reputation for having access to timely (and hard to find elsewhere) financial reporting. NewsCorp? What can I find there that isn't available lots of other places for free? I think Murdoch is about to find out that he's expecting to charge people for a commodity with minimal value.
