You know things are getting weird when a judge enjoins Microsoft from selling Word:

A Texas judge ruled Tuesday that Microsoft cannot sell one of its flagship products, Word, in the United States because of patent infringement. You read that right: Microsoft cannot sell Word, the judge ruled.

This takes effect in 60 days, and it's supposedly because MS violated a patent for "a method for reading XML". Right - like no one ever came up with a method for reading markup before 1998. I'm really starting to wonder about patent law...
