Today was illustration number 1 million as to why I don't trust large organizations. I headed to the MVA with my daughter, to get a learner's permit for her. We had her birth certificate and passport in hand. But noooo - they need a social security card as well. Fine - we head to Woodlawn to get that dealt with. I hand them the birth certificate, and their process is to mail the card.

So let me get this straight: I use the birth certificate to get the card, but the MVA needs both the card and the certificate. At this point, I think the entire state government of Maryland needs to go back to elementary school level math...
