Interesting talk from David Rothlisberger on navigation issues in Smalltalk IDE's - specifically, how much context switching there is between window and tool switches. In a simple defect investigation acrosss 20 developers, they found that there were 52 navigations before the first edit even happened! This relates back to a response to a question Michael asked one of the student developers earlier (who was new to Smalltalk) - he said that he found it difficult to find things. It seems that Smalltalk is harder to find your way around than many of us long time Smalltalkers would like to believe - probably a good thing to start thinking about.
