I ran across an article about the supposedly negative impact of some new ballparks on their teams, and this came up about the Mets and Citi field:
Without the home run, the Mets struggle to rally at home. They began Wednesday's play with 15 comeback victories at home this season, but the deficit was only one or two runs in 13 of the wins. The Mets were 2-27 for home games in which they trailed by three or more runs with at least one inning remaining.
The question the author didn't ponder: how did the opposing team mange to score the runs that necessitated a Mets comeback? Magic? At some point, you simply have to start looking at reality - and the reality is, the Mets are a bad team this year.
