Smalltalk is making inroads in Russia, too - Nikolay Suslov is doing some interesting Croquet based work:

Krestianstvo SDK is built on top of OpenCroquet SDK with preloaded packages (some of the list: Sophie XUL-CSS, Seaside, OMeta, and Krestianstvo itself).

The plan is to write all the new code they create in Russian - class names, selectors, everything. That's not the only Smalltalk news out of Russia though; Dennis Schetinin has been blogging about Web Velocity.
