Like everyone else, I've been playing around with the latest pointless social network. On the strength of a blogroll link, I decided to add Jeremy Hylton as a "friend", although we've never met. So we were trying to figure out what the semantics of the friendship relation were supposed to be. Jeremy came up with a definition I like: "Orkut friends -- someone who you
would buy a beer for if they were in town".
So if you're on Orkut and you get an invitation from me, consider it an implicit promise of a pint sometime down the road.
