Hi, I have a print service running on two PC's. I also have a PDA and i want this to become a client. At the moment i am running Jeode on my PDA and i put my code in a jar file along with all the classes required, however the file is too big for my PDA. Any idea how i can run my client on my PDA. I've read about surogate versions of jini running on J2ME where RMI is removed however this would mean changing all the code that i have. Is this the only way of doing this?
If anyone has any information on running Jini from a PDA it would be a huge help
Hi, A while back I had interest in using a Honeywell Webpad as a client using J2ME for midlets/servlets. I found out it used Jeode and that there was no way to get J2ME on it. Jeode also stated that it would cost around $25K to be able to program the WebPad using the Jeode API. The only use for it ended up using RDP (which it had) and connect to an application under Windows Terminal Services. If you end up buying something else, make sure you can put at least J2ME on it. A good book to refer to is: Developing Jini applications using J2ME (TM) Technology by Hinkmond Wong http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201702444/qid=1050024298/sr=1-17/ref=sr_1_17/104-3180909-9197561?v=glance&s=books
