We are working on developing a tool for encoding, applying, learning and sharing of knowledge and experience of object-oriented design patterns. The Design Pattern Expert System (DPES), would help in-
1. encoding of design experiences in the form of cases 2. introduction of relevant patterns in designs by analyzing them 3. sharing the design expertise of experienced designers
Thus, the DPES aims to improve the overall quality of software designs and also helps to reduce the inertia exhibited by design knowledge or experience when it is being transmitted from one designer to the other
