The year started in January (obviously ;-) with the publication of my first book, "Professionelle Softwareentwicklung mit PHP 5".

In February I joined the Gentoo Linux development team, attended the Free and Open Source Developers European Meeting (FOSDEM), and launched a new website for PHPUnit.

In March I gave a presentation on PHPUnit at a meeting of the PHP Usergroup Cologne/Bonn which was hosted by O'Reilly Germany and went to Hannover for CeBIT.

It was in April that I started to work on the "PHPUnit Pocket Guide".

In May I spoke at the International PHP Conference 2005 - Spring Edition in Amsterdam where I presented "Unit Tests with PHPUnit" and "PHP 5 - The Year After". A couple of days later I visited the PHP Usergroup in Hamburg where I gave two presentations.

June saw the release of the free HTML edition of my book "Professionelle Softwareentwicklung mit PHP 5". During LinuxTag we celebrated PHP's 10th Birthday.

In August I got myself a new camera, a Nikon D70s.

The "PHPUnit Pocket Guide" was published in October, during which I visited Amsterdam again, this time for the EuroOSCON conference.

November saw another incarnation of the great International PHP Conference in Frankfurt am Main. During my full-day tutorial on PHPUnit I released the free HTML version of the "PHPUnit Pocket Guide".

In December I started to work on PHPUnit 3.0 and upgraded my DSL line from T-DSL 1000 to T-DSL 6000 (including new DSL/WLAN hardware) after Christmas.
