From a Reuters story about religious extremism:

[Harvard University's Jessica] Stern said to compare violent extremists from the three faiths was not to suggest that the threat was the same.

"These are not equivalent," she said. "The problems arising from Christian or Jewish extremism are not threatening to the world in the same way as Muslim extremism is."

But you'd never know from the headline: "Religious extremists in 3 faiths share views: report", and there are a dozen paragraphs before the above ones.

I find all religious extremism deplorable. But I am a lot less concerned about whether or not someone thinks I'm going to hell, than I am with whether or not they're trying to send me there posthaste.

Mormonism is some wild stuff, for example. But as long as they confine their actions to stockpiling food and voting for pro-life Republicans, I'm not going to get too bent out of shape about their "out there" beliefs.
