Recently, Google changed their logo to commemorate the launching of Sputnik, the first man-made object to orbit the earth. They did not change their logo for Memorial Day. Some people are apoplectic about the perceived bias.

(As a side note: wow, is Google under a lot of scrutiny!)

The thing is, though, this isn't a political bias; it's a topical bias. Google (albeit less so every month) is a company of geeks. They don't care about political and military history; they care about technological history.
