According to this week's Gentoo Weekly Newsletter the Gentoo's PHP herd (which I joined last week) made the second place in the weekly "Closed Bug Rankings" with 24 closed bugs.

If you look at the closed bugs you will see that I have been quite busy with closing long standing bugs as well as improving PHP and PECL/PEAR support in Gentoo Linux in my first week as a developer.

The most important short-term goal in this regard is to separate the PEAR base system from the PHP ebuild so that the PEAR, Archive_Tar, Console_Getopt, and XML_RPC packages can be updated indepently from PHP releases.

I am looking forward to meet a couple of Gentoo developers at FOSDEM next weekend.
