Do you really need a chapter on stateful objects?

I think that the topic is too narrow. Come on, we are all Java developers, we know what an stateful object is. You dont need a chapter just to tell us about setters and getter. You could do with a section on another chapter.

I think that you included this chapter because you wanted to include the case study about discrete event simulation. I have already told you my thougths about long and complicated examples on another post. I saw the title, I decided to give it a try anyway, until I found the following:
"and that the various aspects of the example are structured into four software layers...". Uh?

And I even saw a digital circuit, which reminded me of the nightmares I went through when I had to study this stuff for my degree. No way. Next chapter, please.

I found the code interesting and concise, and made me think about events, listeners, inner classes, beans and all the paraphernalia I have to use in Java ... A good follow up to the old Oberon stuff ... BTW, The half adder diagram is wrong !

A queue of closure events is nice ...
