Hello Scalatest forum! I am a somewhat new developer, my background is actually in Math/Physics but I am now engineering software. Once I get decently good at programming I hope to explore the physics/programming and math/programming overlap a bit. I have a Java 6 certification, but I believe I might be falling in love with programming in scala, if one can say such a thing.
I got into scala through learning about akka actors and akka streams which I originally heard about through listening to podcasts like Software Engineering Radio, or The Java Posse. I got to this forum by hearing Bill Venners' talk "The Trouble with Tests" on the Typesafe Podcast Stream and subsequently contacting him. https://www.parleys.com/talk/53a7d2c4e4b0543940d9e541
I saw a link to this forum from the scalactic site. Right now I am exploring the ideas from Bill's talk, like passing back error messages (instead of throwing Exceptiongs) using Scalactic's Or/Every, but I'll post about that stuff separately. I just wanted to say hi!
Are there any other forums/chat/etc that I should check out? I will probably crosspost this message to a couple scala places like the scalatest-users just to ping the communities and also say hello.
