The Java Community Process (JCP) has received much criticism over the last few years. Yet, the JCP is responsible for advancing Java standards, such as the J2SE and J2EE platforms, and all the major Java APIs. Frank Sommers will moderate a JavaOne JCP panel discussion and invites you to suggest questions for the panel.

The participants will include:

Jason Hunter, Apache's former JCP representative
Rob Gingell, Sun Fellow and head of the JCP
Mark Thomas, IBM's Java program manager and that JCP representative
Mark Hapner, Chief architect of J2EE and Sun's chief Web services architect
Farrukh Najmi, Sun Staff Engineer, and chief architect of JAXR
Doug Lea, the only individual member of the JCP executive committee
