HotSpot Release Date

Anyone know about when Sun will release HotSpot or at least a public beta?
They seemed to have slipped many times on the release date of this
new JVM which leads me to believe that they might be having a
lot of problems getting it to work correctly.

I hope they get it out soon, and that it is reasonably close to being
as fast as hyped. As far as I'm concerned performance is the last major
missing piece of the puzzle.
