Flexjson is a Java libary for serializing Java objects to JSON without the pain. It allows you to control what gets serialized through a simplified DSL like API. It's much easier to work with connected object models without forcing you to create lots of boiler plate code to translate your objects into JSON. It solves the circular reference problem without changing your object model.
