OnJava.com has anice article on the pitfalls of JSP and how JSF solves those pitfalls while bringing us closer to a full MVC model of frontend web application design. The article is called, Why Web Developers Need JavaServer Faces. But there are problems.

Why should JSF require us using specialized tools? Why not use Tapestry instead? Several Commenters to teh article seem to think in the same way. I will stick with Tapestry not only becasue I see the beneifts of the approach(I already use Velocity to do several features of JSF without special tools).
