I removed some text from my recent entry on EuroPython 2003, where I said something along the lines that Sweden was ruled against in the informal hand-waving poll at EuroPython, because that really wasn't the case and I definitely would like the decision of the location to be considered carefully.

And I symphatize with Martijn Faassen expressing his dislike of deciding about the location of EuroPython 2004 too rapidly and without a decent decision procedure. (Yah, I wasn't organizing the event, but anyway.) I hope that the decision is not closed yet.

And Magnus Lyckå has a point in his remark that the EuroPython conference serves as a Python promotor in general, and because of that some variety in locations, if possible and doable, is indeed welcome.
