I second Tim Peters's message to python-dev in that this year's (2003) Active awards gave some highly deserved recognition to two prominent Python developers, Mark Hammond and Martin von Löwis. Tim nor me [well, Tim might have been] weren't the first to notice that they deserve the recognition, but I have praised Martin von Löwis earlier. (With a rather clumsy English apparantely; I hope I have improved at least a bit since then. I can see it myself only after I have forgotten the text altogether.)
